eBanka made a profit of CZK 21.3 million in the 1st quarter of 2006


In the 1 st quarter of 2006, eBanka generated a profit in the amount of CZK 21.3 million. Following its successfully completed restructuring, the bank confirms the profiting trend – it has been generating profit since the first months of the year 2005. 

Key financial data
 
The profit of CZK 21.3 million generated by eBanka in the 1 st quarter of 2006 represents an annual growth by 13.3 % (in the same period of 2005, eBanka achieved a profit in the amount of CZK 18.8 million)
 
Profits from banking activities as at March 31, 2006 reached the amount of CZK 361.2 million. In annual comparison, the amount grew by 3%. The highest increase was in stable interest revenues as such grew by 27% over the year. On the other hand, non-interest revenues fell by 7% primarily due to lower revenue from foreign exchange transactions and growing inter-bank charges.
 
Adjustments to credits decreased significantly over the year, as they dropped from CZK 31.4 million in the first quarter of 2005 to CZK 9 million in the first three months of this year.
 
eBanka’s balance sheet sum grew annually from CZK 13.8 billion (as at March 31, 2005) to CZK 17.5 billion (as at March 31, 2006), which represents a 26.8% growth.
 
As at March 31, 2006, eBanka’s registered capital was in the amount of CZK 1.18 billion, the capital adequacy reached 11.85%.
 
Selected business results
 
The volume of client deposits grew over the year from CZK 11.3 billion as at March 31, 2005 to CZK 14.6 billion as at March 31, 2006, i.e. by 29.2%.
 
The volume of provided credits grew by 33.3% from CZK 7.2 billion as at March 31, 2005 to CZK 9.6 billion as at March 31, 2006. Of the total number of provided credits, the largest volume is represented by corporate loans (CZK 5.4 billion), followed by mortgages (CZK 2.7 billion) and retail loans (CZK 1 billion).
 
eBanka services 474 thousand clients, of which 117 thousand are eBanka’s primary clients – owners of Personal and Corporate accounts. eBanka operates its own sales network, which currently consists of 154 points of sale for retail and corporate clients. eBanka also operates 46 ATMs.
