eBanka generated CZK 61.9 million of profit as of September 30, 2006
In the 1 st half of 2006, eBanka generated a profit before tax according to IFRS in the amount of CZK 43.9 million, which represents a 34.6% growth in annual comparison. The volume of client deposits grew as well as the volume of provided credits. Three Golden Crown 2006 awards granted to Personal Account, Direct Banking and Payment Card Locking proved the quality of eBanka´s products and services.
Economic Results
In the first half of 2006, eBanka generated in compliance with IFRS profit in the amount of CZK 43.9 million. After successful completion of its restructuring in 2005 the bank confirms its profiting trend; it has been generating profit since the first months of 2005 without interruption. The non-audited profit of CZK 43.9 million generated by eBanka in the 1 st half of the year 2006 represents a 34.6% growth in annual comparison (over the same time in the year 2005, eBanka generated profit of CZK 32.6 million).
Profits from banking activities has reached the volume of CZK 741.7 million as at June 30, 2006, while it was CZK 714.3 million over the same time in the year 2005. This represents a 3.7% increase in annual comparison.
The balance sheet volume of eBanka grew over the year from CZK 16.5 billion (as at June 30, 2005) to CZK 18.0 billion (as at June 30, 2006), i.e. by 9.1%.
As at June 30, 2006, eBanka’s registered capital was CZK 1.18 billion and its capital adequacy 10.94%.
Sales Results
The volume of client deposits grew annually from CZK 14.2 billion as at June 30, 2005 to CZK 14.8 billion as at June 30, 2006, i.e. by 4.2%.
The volume of provided credits rose by 26.9% from CZK 7.8 billion as at June 30, 2005 to CZK 9.9 billion as at June 30, 2006. The largest part of the total of provided credits consists of corporate loans (CZK 5.7 billion), mortgages (CZK 3 billion) and retail loans (CZK 1.2 billion).
By the end of the 1 st half of the year 2006, eBanka has been servicing over 475 thousand clients, of which almost 118 thousand consisted of eBanka’s core clients – owners of Personal and Corporate accounts. eBanka has its own sales network, currently including 130 points of sale providing services to retail and corporate clients. eBanka operates 47 ATMs.
Achieved Awards
In the last annual competition for the best banking products in the Czech market - Zlatá koruna (Golden Crown) 2006, eBanka has reached for three gold awards: Zlatá koruna 2006 for the Personal account, Zlatá koruna 2006 for Direct banking and Zlatá koruna 2006 for Payment card locking. The competition Zlatá koruna for the best financial products of the year was held for the fourth time already. The Financial academy, consisting of one hundred of the most important financial experts and economic journalists, evaluates products of the financial market intended for retail clients and small and medium enterprises every year.
Outlook for the future periods
On July 24, 2006, an agreement on sale of a 100% share in eBanka to the group of Raiffeisen International Bank-Holding AG was signed. The selling price of eBanka was set to be 130 million euro (approximately CZK 3.7 billion). In the following months, eBanka will thus develop its business activities as a part of one of the largest bank groups operating in the region of Central and Eastern Europe.
In the future, eBanka will continue the acquisition of clients in its two key segments: solvent retail clients and small and medium enterprises, and on increasing the quality of services for its current clients. eBanka expects its business to be profitable in the future as well.eBanka is a universal bank for solvent individuals and small and medium sized enterprises. It provides its clients with a complex portfolio of financial products and services emphasizing the use of direct banking. The total number of clients has already exceeded 474 thousand. 118 thousand clients use the Personal and Corporate accounts with eBanka. As at June 30, 2006, the owner of eBanka is Česká pojišťovna, which holds 100% of the shares in eBanka. eBanka holds the awards of the Most dynamic bank of the year 2005 and Account of the year 2005.
